What I’m wearing: Jacket(similar), Tee, Leggings, Shoes (similar, mine are Kate Spade bought second hand)
The trend continues…
With fall and winter right around the corner I want to share a list of budget friendly faux leather leggings under $50. These have been very popular the last few years. Each year, I think the trend will fade, then they pop up again in stores! I was happy to see them as new arrivals at Target recently simply because I hadn’t bought into this trend yet.
There are so many ways you can wear these. They can be dressed up or down. You can wear them for a night out, running errands, or just around the house. Seriously, you can’t go wrong. Later this week I will share some outfit inspirations, like the one above. Wear them with whatever makes YOU comfortable. For me, I like to wear longer shirts or tunics with these leggings.
When shopping around for these, I read reviews and saw photos from women of all body types, the options I’m sharing here have great reviews across the board. I personally don’t buy anything without digging into the reviews, so I encourage you to do the same to make sure they’re exactly what you’re looking for.
Now, if you aren’t a fan of leggings to begin with, this post may not be for you. If you’re just starting out with incorporating leggings into your wardrobe, maybe you don’t want to jump into the leather look. I get that. It took me the longest time to buy leggings that weren’t standard black cotton (2020 changed all that)! If you’re in that boat, and want a good black pair, I recommend these from Target, currently $20. They are my personal favorite. I like them because they are a thicker fabric, stretchy, mid-rise, they stay put, you cannot see-through them, and you can put them in the dryer. I always wash these in cold water and dry on the lowest temp.
OK – back to the faux leather. If you have a little bit more room in your budget and want to invest in a high-end pair, Spanx has great faux leather leggings . These are just under $100, but have outstanding reviews and set the bar pretty high for faux leather leggings. At the time of writing this post, they had over 3,400 reviews with an average 4.4 star rating. I personally can’t bring myself to spend that much on a pair of leggings. However, I was recently able to grab a pair from Poshmark for under $50. They are so good!!

For those who want a similar look, for less, I’ve put together a list of faux leather leggings under $50 below.
Affordable Faux Leather Leggings Under $50
In the order they appear in the photo above
1. Aerie Crackle Legging, as of writing this post, these are on sale for under $30!
Unfortunately, there are only limited sizes currently available in black. Sad! Hopefully you have some luck snagging these. From my research, these seem like an amazing comparable to the higher end faux leather leggings. I do love the other colors they have too! If you get these, I would love to hear what you think, so feel free to comment below.
2. Nordstrom brand, original price of these is just below $60, so be on the lookout for sales and other discount opportunities for these! They were under $40 with the recent sales promo going on.
Reviews are SO GOOD for these. They are said to have a thicker lining which makes them more suitable for winter, compared to other options. If you live in a cooler climate, you can extend your wear on these throughout winter! I live in Ohio and can say there is nothing worse than a cold winter breeze seeping through your clothes when you step outside.
3. Target Wild Fable Liquid Leggings, currently $18! Skip buying your morning coffee for a few days and buy these instead.
You just can’t beat the price here. They have so many good reviews. I have these and love them! I was torn between size small and medium, so I ordered both online and ended up keeping the medium. Small was just a pinch too tight and I don’t want them to shrink up in the wash. These are super lightweight and have good stretch to them. They are not see-through. I will definitely be adding these to my WFH wardrobe rotation!
4. Amazon Ginasy legging, as of writing this post, these are under $40.
These are lined, which make them warmer than other legging options listed. I had to buy these to try because the reviews were so good. Also, when I purchased, there was a coupon available and FREE shipping. Even if you can’t get them at this price, the original price is still good, in my opinion. These are great for cooler weather.
5. Retro Gong Amazon: these are just below $60 right now.
Over 9k reviews with 4.4 average rating. That is a ton of good reviewing on these!! I like the look of these in photos. Some leather leggings can look plastic and fake, but these do not.
