Because we have 5 December birthdays in our family, my husband & I typically don’t buy holiday gifts for each other.  But, we always get a few smaller stocking stuffer type presents so we still have some things to open on Christmas morning.  This electric wine opener is more of a practical gift, but I know we will put it to good use on a regular basis + it’s so pretty that I don’t mind it sitting out on the counter!  We celebrated his birthday last week and I also gave him this mock neck pullover (which he loved!) & this packable hammock (for all our camping adventures).

As most of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in late October, which has been devastating to my whole family.  I’ve been flying back & forth between New York and Oregon to help care for him while he undergoes treatment and we are so blessed to be able to go back as a family this Christmas & spend the holidays together.  My dad & I have always been very close and we’ve had lots of conversations lately about time – how much he has left, how he wants to spend it, the things he still wants to do.

Due to my dad’s diagnosis, the last few months have been really hard on my mom, so I wanted to get her something extra special this year.  She has fairly small wrists, but as she’s gotten older, the arthritis in her hands has caused her joints to swell so much that she’s unable to wear some of her favorite bangles because she can’t get them over her hands.  So this gorgeous diamond bracelet will be perfect for her because she can adjust it for a perfect fit.  I love that it’s dainty enough for every day use (and great for stacking!), plus it has just the right amount of shine without feeling too fancy.  Unfortunately, this particular bracelet sold out before I was able to share it with you, but I found similar styles here, here & here.
