WEARING
I don’t wear bold jewelry as much as I used to, but I love the idea of a sleek pair of drop earrings that can be dressed up or down. These horn earrings have a cool modern look to them, and, because they aren’t sparkly, they feel more wearable for everyday & are chic when simply paired with a cozy sweater & jeans (they also come in ivory). More styles that I’m loving for fall are these splurge-worthy statement drops, these tusk earrings & this semi-precious pair.
We’re heading into the busiest season of the year – school is starting again, schedules are filling up faster than ever and the holidays are just around the corner. Dealing with stress has always been a challenge for me & it’s an area where I continually have to work to do better. If you’re familiar with the Myers-Briggs® test, this article is a fascinating read & spot-on when it comes to explaining how different personalities respond in stressful situations & how to help if you’re a friend or loved one (for the record, I’m an ENFJ).
Similar to my philosophy on jeans, I only allow myself to buy new boots if I find a style that I truly love that’s different from the other pairs I already own. These suede booties instantly caught my eye because I’ve been searching for some in this shade of taupe for years. I love the leg-lengthening pointed toe & sturdy block heel. Other fall footwear I’m eyeing are these gorgeous suede pumps, these leopard flats & these buckled boots (now 50% off!).
MAKING
It may be cliché, but as soon as September hits, I start pulling out all my pumpkin recipes. I have an old family recipe for pumpkin bars that my kids love, but I can no longer eat them. So I was thrilled to find that these pumpkin donut holes are grain-free and just as delicious as the real thing (I use coconut oil instead of canola & coconut sugar instead of granulated). During the fall, I also stock up on this pumpkin muffin mix, which I can whip up quickly when I’m short on time (p.s. these parchment liners are life-changing & remove clean no matter how sticky your batter is).
I plan on fully embracing the bell-sleeve trend for fall, so I’ve been on the hunt for a couple pieces in this style that I can add to my closet this season. While I’m seriously lusting after this gorgeous sweater, I’ll have to wait for a good sale to scoop it up. So, until then, this billowy blouse is a great affordable option that I can wear both now & later (love the ruffled neckline!). A few more budget-friendly options to try are this ribbed sweater, this green blouse & this crochet-trim top.
