Hi friends! I am so glad you are here because today we are stepping away from clothing and talking all about skincare! Over the years I have tried several different products in my evening skincare routine for oily skin, it has been tricky to find the right balance. I have always felt overwhelmed and lost when it came to picking the correct products for my skin. It feels like I have tried every product under the sun with little to no results. On the other hand, I always have fun trying new skincare products! Over the last year or so I ‘ve been using the same products and have seen huge improvement to my skin. With that being said, everyone’s skin is so very different, but these are products that have worked for me, and I personally love. They may or may not work for you, but you could have fun trying them! 🙂

Step 1: Cleanse
First things first, cleanse your face. The most important step to beautiful skin is clean skin. Clean skin helps prep your skin for the next steps and prevents unwanted buildup that oily skin often brings. Wash away the dirt, oil, and build up from the day! Using warm water helps to open up and clear out pores. I interchange between this hydrating cleanser and this Thayers option. Both work really well for me, I tend to use Thayers when I wear less makeup since it is gentler.
Step 2: Tone
Did you know toner works as a second cleanser? I literally had no idea what the purpose was of toner when I started using it. Now that I know, I will always use it! After cleansing, apply toner with a cotton ball to get a second swipe over any missed spots. I usually apply this toner until the cotton ball comes back clean then let it dry before applying this Salicylic Acid Exfoliant to help shrink up pores. I have huge pores and blame it on the oily skin. The exfoliant has definitely helped shrink my large pores!
Step 3: Serums & Moisture
This! This is my favorite part. Why? Cleaning is boring, but essential. This is where you see real results and have fun with different products. About once per week, I use a face mask after cleansing to add extra moisture to my skin and give it an extra boost. After using this mask from Lancome, I see a HUGE difference in my skin’s appearance. It reduces the appearance of fine lines, and my skin is so smooth. Highly recommend! On night I’m not using a mask, I make sure to use serum and moisturizer. This serum from Lancome has been life changing for me. It is expensive but is the only serum I’ve ever used that really reduces wrinkles and fine lines. I usually only apply to my forehead, so I only use a very very little bit each day. After that, I moisturize with Vitamin C and eye cream! Vitamin C can help produce collagen, so I’m all for it!
Step 4: Neck & Body
No matter your age, it is so important to moisturize your neck! This ultra-delicate skin is often overlooked. I use this best ever collagen & elastin cream nightly on my neck, applying in a gentle upward motion. For everywhere else, I love this shea body lotion. The smell is phenomenal and is a clean product!
Step 5: Sleep
While steps 1-4 are all very important, sleeping is just as critical. Especially what you are sleeping on. I always sleep on a silk pillowcase to help retain all of the skin care products mentioned above and to help prevent wrinkles (shout out to all you side sleepers!). Check out this post, where I detail the several benefits of a silk pillowcase. This is the best skincare investment I’ve ever made!
Misc. Steps
On occasion, I will use self-tanner in the evening. I’ve tried several!! This water tanner and tanning mitt is the best I’ve ever tried!
If you need help with oil throughout the day, I recommend this Revlon roller to help reduce oil!
